Community Learning Connections (CLC), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to engage, support, and empower learners and their families will host its 5th Annual Golf Outing on Friday, Sept. 28 at Hantz Golf Club in Tecumseh. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with tournament play beginning with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
The outing is a major fundraiser for CLC and supports its overall operations. Heather Perez, CLC Director said the golf outing is critical to the organization.
“As a nonprofit organization, we run our finances pretty lean and mean, with the majority of our funding coming from grants that directly support activities and programming,” said Perez. “Funding from our events pays for staffing and other operational costs. We couldn’t do what we do without the support of this giving community and we are grateful that Tecumseh values the work that CLC is able to accomplish for kids and families.”
The staff of five leads many programs/services at Tecumseh Public Schools, including Friday Food Packs, Lunch Pals, Career Exploration, Ruling Our eXperiences, Jr. SADD, Family Nights, Student-Driven Positive Change Projects, and others designed to improve academic achievement, as well as support socio-emotional health and well being.
CLC is seeking individuals and businesses who wish to register to play in the tournament, and/or sponsor the event. If you are interested in participating, registration forms and information are available on the CLC Facebook page, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 517-423-7574.
