The Tecumseh High School Art Department is hosting their biennial Empty Bowls Fundraiser on February 22, 2019 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Tecumseh High School Great Hall.
Empty Bowl attendees are invited to a simple meal of soup, bread and dessert. In exchange for a cash donation guests are asked to keep the bowl as a reminder of the many empty bowls in our community.
Each bowl is handmade from students, teachers, retired teachers, TPS alumni and other community members. The menu will consist of either Chicken Noodle or Minestrone soup, breadsticks from Basil Boys, and a cookie for dessert. There will also be a vegetarian option available. The cost of the meal is $10. Money raised will go to the Tecumseh Service Club and God’s Bread Basket.
This year’s sponsors include TLC Community Credit Union, Basil Boys, Busch’s Home Market, and the TPS Food Services Department.
Empty Bowls is a grassroots effort to fight hunger and was started in Michigan by two art educators. It has grown to become an international awareness program.
