Tecumseh Public Schools Hosts Marshall Plan Information Night

It is estimated that more than 800,000 careers across a variety of trade, professional and technical fields will be open in Michigan through 2024. The goal of the Marshall Plan for Talent is to better prepare the generation of employees to fill these high-quality positions.

Tecumseh Public Schools will host Roger Curtis, Director of the Michigan Department of Talent and Economic Development for an informational session about the Marshall Plan at 6:30 p.m. Mon., June 4 at Tecumseh High School.

The Marshall Plan is designed to develop partnerships between educators, employers, and other stakeholders to change the way learners and adults are prepared for careers. An additional $100 million will be invested over the next five years to revolutionize Michigan’s talent and education system, to increase collaboration with business and industry and support the transition competency-based learning to create multiple pathways to education and employment.

Tecumseh Public Schools has already begun work to transform the way it prepares learners for future employment in Michigan. This spring, the district announced a 100 Business Buy-In program to connect learners to businesses and organizations in Lenawee County to create Learning Laboratories for job shadowing, mentorship and other career exploration opportunities.
