The Tecumseh Public Schools maintenance staff has a new tool to help keep classrooms and common areas free of germs this cold and flu season. The district was named a recipient of two Victory Innovations Professional Cordless Electrostatic Sprayers, in the Victory Innovations Co. Keep Kids Healthy Giveaway.
The disinfectant sprayers add an electrical charge to cleaning solutions, allowing them to more effectively and evenly cover conductive surfaces such as desks, door handles, drinking fountains and other hard surfaces with sanitizer to kill viruses and bacteria.
“The great part about these sprayers is that they can quickly and easily reach all sides of a surface and work with any sanitizer,” said Josh Mattison, Director of Facilities. “This means we will get a deeper clean with the cleaning products that are already approved for district use.”
The touchless application also means that surfaces can be cleaned more quickly and eliminates the risk of cross contamination from other cleaning methods.
“The sprayers also reduce the amount of chemicals needed to disinfect our buildings as compared to a traditional bottle sprayer,” Mattison said. “They are another great tool to have on hand to quickly and easily sanitize hard surfaces to help reduce transmission of colds and other illnesses.”
In addition to the school setting, electrostatic cleaning sprayers are also used in hospitals, office buildings, athletic facilities and the food service industry. Victory is giving away over $500,000 worth of sprayers, valued at $799 each to assist in keeping schools clean and to help reduce the risk of illness in children.
