TPS Seeks Volunteers to Review Health Curriculum

Tecumseh Public Schools is looking for parents and community members interested in serving on a Health Advisory Committee to review the district’s K - 12 health curriculum.

The committee will review the materials and methods of instruction for general health and wellness classes and reproductive health education and make recommendations to district representatives for updates and improvements to the curriculum.

“We are looking for parents of current TPS learners, especially those who are also health professionals who are interested in holding a discussion about health instruction,” said Mary Tommelein, East and West STEAM Center counselor. “The goal of the committee is to ensure that TPS curriculum addresses health concerns our learners may face.”

Committee members are asked to participate in periodic meetings during the school year. The first meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27 in the Administrative Services Building Conference Room, 212 N. Ottawa St., Tecumseh. Other meetings will be scheduled as needed.

Interested community members should download and complete a committee membership application. Completed applications may be returned to Kristalyn Musselman, Health Education facilitator, Tecumseh High School, 760 Brown St. Tecumseh, MI 49286.
