Project Lead the WayLearners sharing ideas

Our STEAM Centers are strongly focused on personalized and project-based learning with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM).

In addition to core subject study in English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, students are provided opportunities to work at their own pace on engaging projects that address real-world problems. Under the guidance of their mentors and learning teachers, students are encouraged to explore a variety of subject areas. Through these independent learning projects, students are motivated to explore their passions while developing time management, collaboration, communication, and other 21st century skills necessary to become critical thinkers and problem solvers.

Tecumseh East STEAM Center is home to students in Grade 8 for the 2019-20 school year. These students will remain in this learning center for two years, looping with the same group of learning teachers. Students at this level become a part of our 1:1 Technology Program where each student receives a Chromebook for their educational use.

Tecumseh Public Schools was recently awarded a safety grant for next school year. School Resource Officer Chad Rodgers spearheaded the grant application along with Interim Grants Officer Meghan Way.

TPS Winter Weather Plan

Winter in Michigan can mean anything from sunny and mild to icy and treacherous. Our Transportation Department, watches the forecast closely to watch for possible inclement weather and evaluates road conditions as weather conditions deteriorate.
