tecumseh high school

Consistent high marks for Tecumseh High School is nothing new, and 2022 is proving that trend is continuing. A matter of fact, THS is on the rise as one of the best high schools in the country, the state, and the local area.

Once again, THS has been named in the ‘Best High Schools Rankings 2022’ by U.S. News and World Report.

The 2022 edition of Best High Schools includes a numerical ranking of nearly all public high schools nationwide – almost 18,000 of them. There are rankings within each state and within each census-designated metropolitan area that has three or more high schools.

With 17,843 schools ranked on six factors based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college, Tecumseh High School finished with a rank of 2,856, which is up from last year. That places THS in the top 16% of high schools in the country.

“Even through two years of COVID, lockdowns, quarantines, etc., Tecumseh’s students and teachers continued to work hard, get the job done and actually improve towards their educational growth goals as evidenced by our performance,” said Tecumseh High School Principal Dennis Niles. “I could not be prouder of the THS school community.”

Tecumseh Public Schools is not just proud of the national ranking for THS, the District is very happy with Tecumseh High School’s performance in the state of Michigan and our local area.

THS is ranked 98th out of 1,142 high schools in Michigan. Time and time again, THS finds itself ranked in the top 10% of high schools in the state.

Besides the high honors nationally and in the state, Tecumseh High School once again takes the top spot for high schools in the ‘Adrian, MI Metro Area High Schools’ category. It’s also worth pointing out that THS is the only school in Lenawee County that is in the top 100 in Michigan.

In this year’s rankings, THS went up in two very important areas: Proficiency and Performance on the Michigan SAT test in both English Language Arts and Math.

A great high school educates all students from different social and economic backgrounds, exposing them to challenging coursework on the path to graduation.
