Tecumseh Public Schools is partnering with the Cook Center for Human Connection and ParentGuidance.org to provide mental health resources to families. The Cook Center for Human Connection is a nonprofit foundation committed to preventing suicide, improving mental health support, and encouraging human connections.

ParentGuidance.org is a mental health resource available to parents at no cost. This website provides a trusted resource where parents can find real answers, support, and help for their children’s mental health. Therapists back ParentGuidance.org, and it contains over 50 on-demand e-courses for parents, led by licensed therapists, on topics such as living with a child with depression, identifying anxiety, coping with grief and loss, among other issues. Within ParentGuidance.org, you will find “Ask A Therapist,” where parents can submit questions anonymously to be answered by licensed therapists and posted in the ParentGuidance.org website on the “Ask A Therapist” page as part of the library of frequently asked questions.  A generous Cook Center for Human Connection grant makes these no-cost resources available.

In addition to offering these free resources, Tecumseh Public Schools is providing 12 mental health Zoom webinars, two events this spring, and ten next school year. This is an opportunity for parents to help support their child and their mental health needs. Our first Zoom event will be on April 25th from 7:00 - 8:00 pm, where parents can learn more about "Social Media - Protecting Your Child."
