The Inclusion Champion Award was launched in 2024 by the Lenawee Special Education Parent Advisory Committee to highlight exceptional staff across local districts who truly prioritize inclusion. The committee is proud to sponsor this award and shine a light on individuals who champion this important work.
Inclusion Champions create environments where every child, regardless of their differences, feels valued, respected, and safe. They believe every student is capable and ensure each one feels welcomed. Whether through big actions or small moments, their impact makes a difference every day.
At Monday night’s Board of Education meeting, Michelle Malewitz presented this year’s Inclusion Champion Award recipients:

• Christina Horner – TMS Instructional Assistant, with son Zachary Horner, TMS student
• Danielle Yielding – TMS Instructional Assistant
