Right now, Leadership students from Tecumseh High School are doing their part to maybe ease the awkwardness and anxiety for our youngest Tecumseh Middle School students. They're creating Puberty Kits for 5th graders. These types of kits usually consist of things like deodorant, body wash, and other products. If you're interested in helping out, the Leadership class has created an Amazon Wish List. We're looking to collect items by February 10th. Thanks! Students from Siena Heights University and Adrian College popped in for a visit yesterday at Tecumseh Middle School. The college students are soon-to-be teachers and worked with the TMS Educators Rising Club on a project. Our students created poster-size bulletin boards focused on a children’s story. The group works with our middle schoolers on the best skills and strategies to read aloud a book to young students. Teacher and advisor Jennifer Gentry led the way, guiding students on questions and other details.

Art students this week have been working on artist maquettes. This project is part of Christine Obeid’s Art and Design class at Tecumseh High School. A maquette is a model for a larger piece of sculpture, created to visualize how it might look and to work out approaches and materials for how it might be made. Students have been creating miniatures in honor of famous artists, including Vincent van Gogh, Marc Chagall, Rembrandt, and Leonardo da Vinci. They’re working together to create these pieces and are showing their creativity in their work.

Right now, an Equations Tournament is happening at Tecumseh High School. Our THS students are competing against students from Sand Creek Community Schools. The game uses cubes consisting of numbers as well as operations. Students set a goal and then must use the cubes to write equations with the goal. This is a fantastic way to improve their math skills and use strategy to win the game.

There’s been an overwhelming amount of support for Tecumseh Middle School student Vann Burpee and his family. If you remember, Vann was diagnosed with a malignant non-operable brain tumor. He’s already gone through several surgeries and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. If you would like to support Vann and his family, the ‘Victory for Vann’ t-shirt fundraiser is still going. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Burpee family in support of Vann’s treatment. Thank you! 'Victory for Vann' ➡️➡️ https://bit.ly/3vxazQk

Some fun for our students at Tecumseh High School during the annual 'Minute to Win It' holiday celebration. The Link Crew puts this event together. It's a chance for the juniors and seniors to check in with their 'Crew' in a fun environment. The Link Crew is a pretty cool student leadership group. The upperclassmen welcome freshmen and make them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. Link Crew provides the structure for first-year students to receive support and guidance from juniors and seniors who have been through the challenges of high school and understand that the transition to a larger school can sometimes be overwhelming.
