Tecumseh Middle School students are actively contributing to the festive spirit this holiday season. Students from Madison Weaver, Joe Northup, and Ellie Howard's classes took the initiative to craft Christmas cards for the residents of nearby assisted living facilities. A total of 185 cards were carefully designed and personalized with heartfelt holiday messages, intending to bring joy to the residents. After completing the Christmas card project, students also took advantage of their free time to enjoy a bit of karaoke singing! β˜ƒοΈπŸŽ„πŸŽ… #Christmas #christmascards2023

Next stop: the North Pole! πŸŽ…πŸŽ„β„οΈ Students at Tecumseh Acres Early Learning Center have finished their letters to Santa, and they're being sent to the North Pole. In the letters, students made a brief list of what they wanted for Christmas, asked the big man some questions, and some of them made sure Santa knew they'd been good this year.

Tecumseh Middle School and Tecumseh High School students recently engaged in an Equations Tournament hosted at the LISD TECH Center. Participating in spirited competition against multiple teams, our high school team emerged victorious in all three divisions. In this unique contest, participants utilize cubes featuring numbers and operations. Setting personal goals, students strategically employ the cubes to formulate equations aligning with their objectives. This dynamic competition enhances their mathematical proficiency and encourages strategic thinking to secure success in the game. Great job by all of our students!

Today, on Veterans Day, we pay tribute to our military veterans' remarkable dedication, sacrifice, and hard work. This day stands as a testament to all those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Originally known as Armistice Day, November 11 signifies the end of World War I, concluding on November 11, 1918. In 1954, this day was renamed Veterans Day to honor veterans from all conflicts. It's a yearly celebration on November 11 and has held federal holiday status since 1926. Within Tecumseh Public Schools, our veterans contribute significantly daily to our district. Their courage, selflessness, sacrifice, and valor in safeguarding our freedom are deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten. Gratitude goes out to Greg Dolson, Sgt. Scott Lambka (SRO), Tim Mark, Magnum Stead, Paul Wellman, Dan Koerber, Nick Benschoter, and Greg Lewis (Board of Education member). The liberty we cherish is safeguarded by the bravery of those who have served. We honor and appreciate all the men and women who have selflessly served our nation. #VeteransDay #ThankYou

Hat days at Tecumseh Acres Early Learning Center weren't just about styleβ€”they were about heart and community. During the hat days, students rallied to raise several hundred dollars for the Wounded Warrior Project, showcasing the power of unity and generosity. But that's not all! Janey Stark's second-grade class poured their creativity into letters for local veterans, expressing gratitude and admiration. Today, these letters will find their way to Hall-Slater VFW Post 4187 just in time for Veterans Day this Saturday. Join us in celebrating these young changemakers! Small actions, big impactsβ€”because even the littlest hats can make a huge difference!

Just before school ended, students and staff at Herrick Park Intermediate Learning Center took part in a PBIS Assembly. PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support. During today's assembly, students presented Respectful, which is part of the READY Expectations. Throughout the month, students and staff are focusing on respect and what that looks like. Students are exploring this important value through engaging lessons, an assembly, READY tickets, fun activities, and more. Today, students earned prizes and even ended the day with a fun game.

Just before the school day ended, students at Tecumseh High School came together for a Pep Assembly and the Unified Sports Flag Football game. The Unified Sports program at TPS is relatively new, with a straightforward aim: to enable individuals of all abilities to engage in sports. Unified Sports provides a platform to emphasize the crucial importance of inclusion within our educational institutions. Unified Champion is an endorsed program by the Special Olympics, designed to promote social inclusion through intentionally planned and executed activities that create a system-wide impact. The teams traversed the court, scoring touchdowns and fostering unity among our students as they rose to their feet to support the athletes. Following the game's conclusion, a pep assembly was held in anticipation of our football team's upcoming battle against Chelsea in the first round of the playoffs tonight.
