Art students this week have been working on artist maquettes. This project is part of Christine Obeid’s Art and Design class at Tecumseh High School.
A maquette is a model for a larger piece of sculpture, created to visualize how it might look and to work out approaches and materials for how it might be made.
Students have been creating miniatures in honor of famous artists, including Vincent van Gogh, Marc Chagall, Rembrandt, and Leonardo da Vinci.
They’re working together to create these pieces and are showing their creativity in their work.

There’s been an overwhelming amount of support for Tecumseh Middle School student Vann Burpee and his family.
If you remember, Vann was diagnosed with a malignant non-operable brain tumor. He’s already gone through several surgeries and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
If you would like to support Vann and his family, the ‘Victory for Vann’ t-shirt fundraiser is still going. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Burpee family in support of Vann’s treatment.
Thank you!

This morning, Cadets from Tecumseh High School took part in the annual Veterans Day ceremony at Brookside Cemetery.
TPS is proud to have our Cadets represent the District in this annual ceremony.
Today is Veterans Day, and we honor our military veterans for their hard work, sacrifice, and absolute dedication to our country.
This day is for all who served in the US Armed Forces.
Originally called Armistice Day, November 11 marks the end of World War 1, which occurred on November 11, 1918. In 1954, the holiday was renamed Veterans Day to pay tribute to the veterans of all wars. It is celebrated every November 11 and has been a Federal holiday since 1926.
Here at Tecumseh Public Schools, our veterans make a difference daily in our District. Thank you for your courage, selflessness, sacrifice, and bravery in protecting our freedom. We will never forget your service.
Greg Dolson, Sgt. Chad Rodgers, Tim Mark, Magnum Stead, Paul Wellman, Dan Koerber, Nick Benschoter , Tom Hawkins, Dan Frank
In October, we lost Jim Pearsall. Jim bravely served our country in the US Air Force. He was a custodian for the District, and he would always light up when talking about his grandchildren. We miss you, Jim.
Home of the free because of the brave. We honor and thank all the men and women who have served our nation.
